Unknown Wasp/Hornet

I went outside today and noticed this rather large yellow jacket looking wasp (roughly 1¼ inchs or 3.125cm). I don’t think this is a yellow jacket because I read that they are usually no more than ¾” in size. Clicking any of the photos will yield a larger image (~2mb).

Satellite Sphinx Moth (Eumorpha satellitia)

The Culprit

This is the moth which called me out earlier to the porch to see (thus resulting in a lockout). It is a very beautiful Io Moth, whose caterpillar has a pretty nasty sting.

Weird Glowing Worm

Me and Elli went out for a walk tonight and noticed this glowing worm at the side of the road and decided to bring it home photograph it and see if we could identify it. If anyone knows what this worm is then please let me know 🙂
